Four Things You Can Do To Improve Your Memory

Four Things You Can Do To Improve Your Memory

How many times have you walked into a room only to forget why you walked in there in the first place? It happens to us all, and yet we never think anything of it. The thing is, we shouldn't be walking into rooms and forgetting why we went in there in the first place. As we get older or have children, our memories start to change and fade. A six-year-old can have a memory of an elephant and never forget anything, but by the time we are adults we’re forgetting what to buy at the shops and the next task – it’s frustrating!

The question isn't whether how to improve your memory, but how we can do it and what we can do to enhance it. We need to make sure that we are doing all we can to look after our memory so that it’s preserved for the future. It’s for this reason we’ve put together four things that you can do how to improve your memory and start enjoying life.

4 things you can do to improve your memory

Focus On Muscle Memory

Even if your mind forgets what you were supposed to buy from the shop, you can train your body to remember things. Think about the times you’re driving to work and you have no idea how you got from A to B or how you got the car to work – you just did it. When you’re playing driving games, you start to remember without thinking about how to use the keypad and what the controls are. If you can improve your muscle memory by doing things on repeat, then it stands to reason you can improve your memory for other things, too.

It’s not all hocus pocus, you know. Meditation is a useful tool for a lot of reasons, and you can improve your memory when you meditate. You clear your mind and get rid of the mental clutter, which can help you to improve the things that you are supposed to remember the most.

Play Brain Games

We talked about driving games, but there are so many other games out there that will help you to improve your memory, too. Brain games endorsed by neuroscientists are developed purely to help you to improve your memory. Looking into these types of brain-exercising games is an excellent choice so that you can improve your memory early. Make sure you watch your posture, though; they can be addictive!

Get Some Sleep

To improve your memory, you need to improve the quality of your sleep. Sleep is so critical for many of the functions of the human body, but if you want your brain to play ball, you need to nourish it. Sleep is important, so get the recommended amount of sleep and you’ll make the improvements that count for your memory.

You need to hold onto a healthy memory as long as possible if you want to live a full and rich life. Your memory can naturally fade as you get old, but that doesn't mean that it definitely will. Try the four things above, and you’ll see an improvement.

A Day In The Life (Guest Post)

A Day In The Life (Guest Post)

Guest post by Marie Torres.

Today, I wanted to share with you what a day in the life of a couple of internet marketers from Canada looks like 🙂

From our perspective, the money our online business creates is amazing, but the real treasure is how we've been able to spend most of our days enjoying our boys.  It's because of our passive income systems that we can live life without the constraint of worrying about money or having a traditional job.

So below is a typical day for us (which I realize is quite the anomaly) in a world where everyone is busy rushing from one place to the next.

Andrew and I are well aware of our blessing…

A Day In The Life

So everyday the kids get up and play for a bit (if you know our boys, you know each one will have a soccer ball within minutes of waking up – yes, even the one year old!) while we make breakfast.

If you watched the Masterclass you’ll know that Andrew and I homeschool our 2 boys.

So because we work from home and homeschool, we have the amazing opportunity to pad around the house in our jammies and breakfast is usually long and leisurely.  None of us get up to an alarm and the day starts off relaxed which is how I want my kids to experience the world.

Andrew usually makes some type of gorgeous frittata in the morning using farm fresh eggs and we’ll have that with bacon (yes!), home fries, tomatoes and of course some BulletProof coffee!

And if Andrew doesn’t make the eggs, we have a resident chef (in Jack) who loves to cook!  His breakfast specialties include omelets and poached eggs!

After breakfast, the kids played a little more and today we did some schoolwork with Jack curled up on the couch.  We started exploring this amazing book called, ”The Atlas of Adventures” which I absolutely love!  It was an awesome find at our local library.

Speaking of library, next on the agenda is a library visit.  Andrew hopped in the car with the boys to go down the mountain while I stayed home to write a few emails, including this blog post.   We just recently bought a house on top of a mountain right on the ocean – the sunsets are AMAZING!  Check out the sunset below!

Jack and friends. Sunset on the shore.

Jack loves the library and picked out more books for the week which undoubtedly included some Pokemon Manga.

Henry at the library, despite our urgings to pick out a few books of his own, just runs around!  No one at the library minds though; we live in a very small community and people just smile and talk to him, I guess they know containing a little one is no small feat!

Of course, better than running around in a quiet library, I got a text from Andrew saying he took the boys to the park.  It's a beautiful Spring day and the boys ran around to burn off some steam.

On the way home, Andrew picked up a few groceries including some organic avocados for a fresh tuna, cucumber and avocado salad that I am trying for the first time.

From there, Henry naps (yay!)  Andrew checks in and works for a couple of hours and Jack will work on his schoolwork for a little.

Tonight after an early supper we end up taking a walk on the shore, and then are off to soccer tryouts this evening for Jack (Update: Jack made the tier 1 rep team!)

On the shore.

And that's pretty much a typical day!

After getting back home, and after their nightly routines we curl up with the boys for a little before we put them to bed.

What I love about our days is the flexibility and yet we have the ability to provide much more than I ever thought possible because of our online business.

Now the above is what a typical day looks like, it might be different from yours if you were to grow your passive income streams, but what I want you to take away from this blog post is the feeling of “freedom.”

Our day was relaxed, filled with laughter and wonderment watching our kids explore the world.

Yes, we sprinkled a couple of hours of work in there but for the most part, we were with our kids, had meals made from scratch, and took the time to do things that are enjoyable to us and feeds our soul. Plus it’s a Tuesday, LOL (a day where most people are just getting started in the week and are already longing for the weekend!)

Years ago we decided that we were going to put it in the work and we bought into the vision that life is what we make it.

This is what we wanted from our lives, and it's now our reality.

I want you, to make your dreams a reality as well.

If you haven’t yet watched the Masterclass, watch it now…It will show you how we made this all happen, including how you can start making $1000 a day, starting this week.

Once you’re done watching the Masterclass, email or call me with your questions.

I’m happy to help and connect with you.  One of the things that brings me the greatest joy in life (other than my most awesome husband and kids) is to be able to help other entrepreneurs like yourself figure out your true path to freedom.

Life – a Poem

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another.

Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough, and we'll be more content when they are.

After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with.

We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.

We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our partner gets his or her act together when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice holiday, when we retire.

The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?

Your life will always be filled with challenges.

It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

A quote comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said,

“For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time…and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until winter, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink…. there is no better time than right now to be happy.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Work like you don't need money,

Love like you've never been hurt,

And dance like no one's watching.

Intermittent Fasting

Everything You Need To Know About Intermittent Fasting

I first came across intermittent fasting a few years ago from a book by Brad Pilon called Eat Stop Eat.  I've continually come back to this book because it is incredibly well-researched and Brad Pilon actually does this method of Intermittent Fasting.

Intermittent Fasting Documentary:

I found the concept extremely interesting, but the idea didn't really take root until I saw this intermittent fasting documentary by BBC documentarian Michael Manley:

I also watched this Ted Talk on Intermittent Fasting by Jolly.  It's a bit more technical, but you can see the results you can achieve if you try this method of weight loss out.

Personally, I lost about 30 pounds using this method of weight loss and avoiding almost all simple carbohydrates.

Here is an image of some of the results you can get if you try intermittent fasting.  I found this online.

Video from Mercola on Intermittent Fasting:

After I saw this, it really started to make sense.

This documentary also mentions telemeres, which can extend your life.  Very interesting concept.

If you are interested in intermittent fasting, which I have personally tried, I'd recommend to start here.

What I Learned Playing Cashflow For Kids

The best thing about having an internet business is portability.

Here I am at the lakehouse, feeling completely relaxed.

I make money from anywhere.

Marie and Jack are playing Cashflow For Kids, by Robert Kiyosaki.  Jack is in the habit of rolling the dice right off the table after a long build up.

So Cashflow for Kids is a pretty cool game.

It's ingraining the burdens of buying JUNK on credit and the WILD ELATION of increasing your passive income.

Basically, the player who gets MORE monthly passive income than his or her expenses – WINS!

And your expenses (and passive income) increases in $100 increments.

Cashflow For Kids makes you think about money (and in particular expenses) in a fresh way.

This ties into what I was talking with Marie about yesterday. I think one of the simplest things somebody can do is to make an extra block of money each month.

Let's say just $500 a month.

If you own rental property, chances are you aren't going to get a $500 positive cashflow (and you'll tie up a significant amount of your own money in securing a mortgage.) Still, rental property is not a bad idea.

(Although, we recently had to EVICT one of our renters for non-payment. That kinda sucks.)

But let's get back to $500 a month.

What I like about that is you can make that just on eBay, by learning how to find products that have a pretty good profit margin, and listing them by following a simple system.

Imagine you had 5 products that each sold ONLY for a profit of $100 each month. Maybe the spread on some of them is only a meager $20 profit margin. You would need to sell 5 of those over 30 days to reach $100 a month.

But here's the cool part:

You can do that next month very easily. Just re-list the same items and expect a similar income level.

Making money with eBay is a simple system that you build little chunks of residual income on each successful product.

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. What would an extra $500 a month mean to you and your family?
  2. Would you be willing to learn a NEW skill in order to accomplish this in 2015?
  3. How would you like access to our private Facebook group where you can ask the experts any question about anything you run into?
  4. Can you see yourself changing your life and your finances $100 per month at a time?
  5. Can you challenge yourself to make AT LEAST $100 in passive monthly income within the next 30 days?
  6. Would you like to learn how to enact this system?

Check out the webinar and learn how here.

PS – You will learn how this system works on the webinar. I highly recommend you take an hour today to learn about a new strategy that can make you consistent income.
