In this article, I'm going to explain how I use Perplexity AI, an competitor to ChatGPT, and how it can improve internet research by formatting data directly into tables that you can copy and paste into Google Sheets. This workflow can eliminate the need to certain VA tasks. So, let's get going and get into the world of Perplexity!

You have to be specific about what you want and what criteria you want to include in each column.

After Perplexity generates the initial table, take a look at the data and determine if additional columns would enhance your analysis. Also be aware of any omissions or hallucinations.

For example, adding a column for the region of each city will help you organize the data better. In my experience, I needed to ask the AI a couple of times to refine my request, but persistence pays off, as it does in life.

Once satisfied, you can then request additional useful columns, such as rank as a tourist destination or another metric relevant to your analysis. It can be a little hit-or-miss asking for additional criteria, but it is worth it.

Perplexity is great at adding this kind of information to make your data collection more valuable.

Step 3: Importing and Reviewing the Results

Copy the final data set and paste it into Google Sheets. Like – just copy and paste into the first cell in a new Google Sheet.

Review the data to ensure accuracy, as occasional adjustments might be necessary. In my case, I noticed missing geographic data like the islands of Portugal: Madeira and Azores.

Perplexity AI does an good job, but it's not perfect.

it's always good to double-check specifics that might require a finer human touch.

You could ask for the top 50 dishes tourists should try in Portugal and include brief descriptions and culinary history anecdotes.
